I didn't mind how restricted my view was from the bridge of an M1 because that view is useless in combat anyway: the ship's 2km long and mostly behind you. I knew right away that living in that M5 Disco would be horrible: you'd have to sleep sitting in the pilot's chair and crap in a chemical toilet that folded into the wall. They gave a real sense of what a ship was like to be inside, gave the impression that you were a person flying a ship rather than just the ship istelf. One thing I really missed was the cockpits. I remeber digging through the manual for an hour just to open the main menu (my cousin just gave it to me the first time I asked about it. I was very young at the time, and I got it from my grown cousin. as for owning and flying other ships that's what the sequel will be fore right I really hope X-R can fill that loss for me. In X3R and then TC I just couldn't play for more than 2 hours the immersion was gone for me. I loved the cockpit and I never felt that I wasn't getting the full view even in M1-M2 I thought that's how it would be in real life so to me it was cool. I remember the first time I was flying in a station and found loot. What I loved about X was I could do anything. So I did the right thing and made him go out and buy X-2. oops so I did and I told him Freelancer's cool but X-2 is Bad ass. come to find out I was supposed to buy Freelancer. imagine my surprise when he had no idea what I was talking about. so I called my brother to tell him I loved the game and wondered how long it took him to get a Nova. I remember going home and I was exited by the beginning cut scene, this was so freekinĬool. When I went to the store to get the game I saw X-2 the threat. My brother bought a space game for the PC and told me how fun it was so I will never forget the best mistake I ever made.
